The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, has said the service will strive to deliver its projected N5.1 trillion revenue target for 2024.

Adeniyi disclosed this on Thursday during the decoration of newly promoted officers at the organisation’s headquarters in Abuja.

“We are now in 2024, and we face daunting challenges. Our challenges are in an economy that continuously looks forward to the Nigeria Customs Service to generate revenue to fund the national budget.

“As at the last time, if it has not changed, the revenue projection for Customs in 2024 stands at N5.1 trillion,” he stated, stressing that officers must work hard to achieve this.

In December last year, Adeniyi, during his appearance before the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, stated that Customs had a revenue target of over N5 trillion in 2024, but the lawmakers pushed for N6 trillion.

DAILY POST had reported that Nigeria Customs Service approved the promotion of officers, including two Assistant Comptrollers-General, Florence Nano Ogar-Modey and Queen Ogubudu.
